Originally built as a gambling room in the late 1800's, the round room at the top of the mansion hosted many a high stake poker game. Mont Rest itself changed hands in one of those infamous games in 1895 when the original owner called a $6,000 bet with the deed to the house.

Today it is a guest bedroom that has nothing short of a spectacular view of the Mississippi River. The private bath has a huge double shower which is a favorite among honeymooners. The bedroom set features a queen size antique white iron bed and turn of the century oak furniture. The feel of the room is definitely country folk art. This room also has a TV/VCR/DVD. From the foyer at the top of the spiral staircase which brings you to the tower, you can step out onto a wonderful observation deck.
