Originally built as a gambling room in the late 1800's, the round room at the top of the mansion hosted many a high stake poker game. Mont Rest itself changed hands in one of those infamous games in 1895 when the original owner called a $6,000 bet with the deed to the house.

Today it is a guest bedroom that has nothing short of a spectacular view of the Mississippi River. The private bath has a huge double shower which is a favorite among honeymooners. The bedroom set features a queen size antique white iron bed and turn of the century oak furniture. The feel of the room is definitely country folk art. From the foyer at the top of the spiral staircase which brings you to the tower, you can step out onto a wonderful observation deck that sports a five person recreational Jacuzzi. For your private entertainment, the room is equipped with a TV, VCR and DVD player.
